The nearest train station is Arezzo (34km), served by frequent trains from Florence, Rome and Bologna. From Arezzo, a taxi or hire car is needed to reach the farm. We can recommend local taxi contacts — ask us when you book.

The closest airports with regular international connections are Florence (125km), Bologna (172km), Perugia (90km) and Ancona (180km). Rome Fiumicino (280km) and Rimini (120km) are also options depending on your route.

Caprese Michelangelo (5km) — The birthplace of Michelangelo. A tiny hilltop village with a medieval castle, extraordinary views and excellent local cooking. 10 minutes from the farm — a great first evening out.

Chiusi della Verna (15km) — Home to the Sanctuary of La Verna, where St Francis of Assisi received the stigmata in 1224. Set deep in chestnut forest at 1,128 metres. Worth a morning visit year-round.

Pieve Santo Stefano (14km) — A quiet working town on the upper Tiber, known as the "city of diaries" for its famous national diary archive. Good local restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere.

Anghiari (22km) — One of the most beautiful small towns in Tuscany. Medieval alleyways, artisan workshops and a famous battle site painted by Leonardo. 25 minutes from the farm.

Sansepolcro (29km) — Birthplace of Piero della Francesca. A real working town with world-class Renaissance art, local markets and excellent food without the tourist premium.

Arezzo (34km) — The nearest city of size, with a major train station, airport, excellent restaurants and one of the finest antique markets in Italy (first Sunday of every month). 45 minutes by car.

Bibbiena (37km) — The main town of the Casentino valley. Gateway to the Casentino Forests National Park, with good supermarkets, pharmacies and practical services.

Monterchi (30km) — Home to Piero della Francesca's Madonna del Parto — one of the most moving paintings in Italy, displayed in a dedicated small museum.

Poppi (42km) — A perfectly preserved medieval village dominated by a 13th-century castle. Worth combining with a visit to the Casentino Forests.

Città di Castello (44km) — A lively Umbrian town with an excellent contemporary art museum (Burri collection), a good weekly market and some of the best truffles in central Italy.
